Devlog: Got really sick, read some writing books, thinking about the next projects
So the day after my last devlog, I got really sick. I had unknowingly been exposed to Covid a few days prior, and the symptoms showed up pretty hard on Sunday. I was bedridden for almost 3 days, and developed a lung infection shortly afterward. I'm only now just feeling quasi-normal. I can't taste or smell anything though. Hopefully that doesn't last more than a week or two.
I didn't have the energy to work on the game, but I did busy myself by reading a few books I have about writing. I wanted the next game to have more of a plot, more dialogue, more character interaction/development etc. I was kind of lost on how to even begin to approach that, but the books are helping a great deal.
I also spent the week running through various ideas in my head for what a sequel or spinoff may look like and feature in a pretty concrete way. I was pretty keen on creating custom tile based backgrounds for each demon, and possibly even creating 3d voxel based backgrounds. To that end I started messing around with BlockBench, just to feel it all out.
Either way, I was likely going to release some small experimental games after this one is done, just to try some things out.
