Devlog: One or two mechanics left!
I've gotten more mechanics done this week. There is only one more for sure to go. After that, if I feel like the ritual is still missing something, I'll add in something else.
After all the mechanics are implemented, I will have do some tweaking to get the difficulty right, and calculate scores accordingly.
Granted, whenever I build a ritual for this game, it's important to me that it 'feels' done, as opposed to feeling like it simply crosses off all the check boxes. For that to happen though, usually it's a combination of tweaking and experimenting, and then sometimes inspiration will hit right in the middle of play testing, after I considered it 'done'.
I've found I can't rush that part. But I feel like I've been on this ritual for quite some time, so hopefully these mechanics all come together quick once they are programmed in.
Once it does seem 'done' though, there's just some final playtesting of the whole bit, then the game will be 99% done, save for any last minute minor tweaks I may have to make.
Exciting for me, but also surreal, given how long I have been working on this project.
